The Lam-Yams are finally home from Christmas in Tennessee!
So we hung this big sign on their door. :)
Ryan Lam-Yam. Who is currently going through a fire-man
obsession.
Kashmira and her
family! and the neighbor boy...who always comes and listens to our lessons.
Erica and her daughter Asiah!!
ERICA IS BAPTIZED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am pretty sure this is one of the happiest and most beautiful days of my entire life.
Erica is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints! And she is already a stronger member than I am. Every single RDV I sat in I learned something. I came out inspired and determined to do and be better. Erica is such a wonderful example of faith and trust and turning yourself over to the Master.
The entire baptism was in English for Erica, so this was the
first time I have ever had to translate stuff from English into French. Fun!
The whole thing was just BEAUTIFUL. We got Erica all dressed up in white, and
then gave her a little journal we had made. We were all standing in the little
dressing room, and we all started crying and hugging and said a prayer before
we all went out to take pictures and join everyone.
We sang 'I Need thee Every Hour' and then all went
downstairs to the font. And as she entered the water, the spirit was
overwhelming. She. Was. GLOWING. And smiling SO BIG.
And it was absolutely one of the most beautiful and perfect days of my entire life.
Pictures with Barbara's family!
Barbara is the lady who works at a shelter where she met
Erica.
She brought her to church for the first time. She helped Erica move out
and is just an ANGEL.
She wrote out her testimony so we could put it on the
program. Part of it said:
"Even though I have made some bad decisions throughout
my life, God has never forsaken me. Chance after chance, God has opened closed
doors and heard my cries for help. Even though I didn't deserve them. This past
2013 has been very hard for me, but I have met some wonderful people who have
inspired me and who have led me here. Barbara, I look up to you so much and I
am grateful for you each day for your kindness and guidance. Who would have
known I'd find a church and home with a great foundation and family morals. I
am free and ready to dedicate my life to the Lord. God has given me another
chance, and I will not take it for granted this time. It's my will that God's
will be done in my life."
I just LOVE that. I love her incredible faith. I want to be
more like that. Trusting so deeply and fully in God. Knowing that I can do ALL
things through Christ.
Our district this transfer.
And... speaking of which. We just got the transfer e-mail. I
am staying in Paris! With Sister Anderson. I am so excited! Trusting in the Lord with all
my heart.
Christiane! Our world traveling maman.
Ginormous amounts of loving,
Soeur Autumn Bradley
